Convention Frequently Asked Questions:
- What does registration cover?
Your registration fee essentially covers the cost of food and some of the hotel costs like AV, security, and room rental.
- Why are we downtown Chicago, wouldn’t it be cheaper elsewhere?
Past surveys have indicated that the majority of members prefer to come into Chicago with its public transportation options plus it is easier to get speakers into Chicago with our 2 airports. ILAA has investigated venues in the suburban area and with our space needs, including the exhibit hall and classroom situations, we have found that comparable venues are all comparably priced if not more expensive.
- I can only come on Fridays and have difficulty seeing all the sponsors/exhibitors I want since some leave early.
Exhibit hall time is important and we appreciate your concerns. ILAA cannot prevent exhibitors from leaving early should they choose to do so.

Important information to know prior to registering for the ILAA Convention
Membership in ILAA
– In order to register at the ILAA Member Rate you must be a member of the Academy. This cannot be done in connection with registering for Convention, and must be done PRIOR
to your registering online or completing and submitting this form.

Membership in ILAA is open to all!
- Out-of-state Audiologists and non-Audiologists are welcome to join and save on the convention registration!
The convention ILAA member rate will only apply to those who have renewed or joined.
Membership Commonly Asked Questions
How do I know if I am an active member?
If the "ILAA member" options are not accessible to you when trying to register for the convention, your membership is not active. Please log in and renew your membership.
I just renewed, but I'm still not able to access the "ILAA member" options
: If you renewed your membership within the past week, it is possible your renewal has not be processed yet. You can check your membership status on the website by logging in to your member profile or by contacting our VP of membership at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I do not want to join ILAA, but I do want to attend the convention
: You may go to the convention registration page and begin the registration process. If you have attended our convention before, or you are an audiologist, you are most likely in our databse and will be able to log in to our system. If you do not have a profile you will be prompted to provide contact information prior to regitering for the convention.
