ILAA ADVOCATES FOR THE PROFESSION AND THE PEOPLE IT SERVES
From its inception, ILAA has advocated legislatively for the profession and the people it serves. It has updated the audiology licensing act to ensure that it is current and consistent with the practice of audiology. It has advocated for the universal newborn hearing screening act and proposed enhanced school screening methods.
It was a major force in eliminating the need for dual licensing to dispense hearing instruments. It has worked to prevent legislation that would have overly complicated the dispensing of assistive devices. It has advocated for the profession in various reimbursement issues and was successful in opening a variety of codes. ILAA is preparing a pro-active legislative agenda to enhance the profession and the provision of audiologic services.

ILAA PROVIDES MORE THAN A MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY

You can list all your office locations and even link to your office website.
ILAA PROMOTES PUBLIC AWARENES
ILAA’s website provides information about hearing and balance disorders as well as access for the public to your office information and the services you provide. ILAA has produced a Careers In Audiology brochure for pre-college students, and judges at the Illinois Junior Academy Science Fair each year to promote our profession to promising young people and their families and teachers. It also offers a college scholarship to students with hearing impairment. ILAA participates in numerous museum, public and school functions/career days to increase awareness of the field of audiology.
