The Knowles Hearing Center at Northwestern University is pleased to present a one-day symposium entitled: Translational Research: Applications to Hearing Loss on Friday October 12, 2012 at the Hilton Orrington Hotel in Evanston, Illinois. The symposium will be of interest to faculty and students, researchers, clinicians, engineers and companies focused on researching, diagnosing, treating, or preventing hearing loss. 

The cost is $50 and includes: continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and refreshments during the breaks. To encourage student attendance, student costs is only $25. Audiology CEUs available.

The symposium will present the latest translational efforts to bring current hearing research advances to hearing impaired patients and to prevent hearing loss. In addition, each speaker will present his or her own personal narrative about how he or she got involved in the translational process, their experiences during the translational process and advice for succeeding in moving research into practical use and commercialization as well as how to stimulate novel research from clinical experiences.
