2022 Student Board

Student Board terms start in January of each year.
 

 

Student Board Chair: Emily Ferguson

Emily is currently a third-year student at Illinois State University, where she also completed her undergraduate degree. She served as the Illinois State University Representative last year and is excited to be leading the Student Board this year. Emily’s interests are electrophysiology and pediatrics, and she will be starting her externship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in May.

 

Illinois State University Representative: Krista Franklin

Krista is currently a first-year student at Illinois State University, and she graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Her current interests include cochlear implantation and pediatric diagnostics. She is very excited to be a member of the ILAA Student Board and expanding on the advocacy efforts.

  

University of Illinois Representative: Yadira Alonzo Espinoza

Yadira is a currently a first-year student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from Northeastern Illinois University at Chicago, IL. Whenever she is not working or studying, she is hanging out with friends, running long distances, or watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Yadira is fluent in Spanish and is interested in pediatrics, educational audiology, and hearing conservation programs. She very excited to be involved in ILAA this year and look forward to work in advocacy efforts.

 

Northwestern University Representative: Nora Visscher-Simon

Nora is currently pursuing her clinical doctorate in Audiology at Northwestern University. Nora graduated from Meredith College in Psychology and International Relations. She was heavily involved in the Meredith Autism Program and went on to work with children with Autism for seven years in Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy. Nora is eager to return to working with children and through classes discovered that her goal was to work in pediatric audiology.

 

Northern Illinois University Representative: Krupa Patel

Krupa is currently a second-year student at Northern Illinois University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in Psychology from University of New Mexico. She is fluent in three languages and her audiology interests include Cochlear implants and adult diagnostics.

 

Rush University Representative: Madeline Salutz

Madeline is currently a second-year student at Rush University from Northeastern Wisconsin. She completed her undergraduate degree the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her current interests include adult aural rehabilitation and vestibular assessment. She is excited to be involved in ILAA to represent Rush's chapter of SAA.
